HFHF is a locally run affiliate of
Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for
Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The
houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses. Back To Top |

 Three homes to be built in Sunnyside! The affiliate has been working closely with officials from the City of Flagstaff to ensure handicap visitability and aging in place for the homeowners. This project has been a long time coming for HFHF as the cost to purchase property has created an incredible hardship. In order to continue with our mission of helping low-income families, the affiliate had to borrow money for this purchase. This was a first for HFHF but necessary to move forward. As with all building projects, we are in need of experienced volunteers and funding.
A Brush With Kindness has come to Flagstaff! This volunteer program transforms neighborhoods by performing exterior painting, landscaping and minor repairs for low-income homeowners. Volunteer assistance and donations are needed to see it through a successful first year. ReStore is open! The HFHF ReStore recycles overstocked, discontinued, new and gently used home improvement items donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These donated items are sold to the public at 50% to 90% below retail prices. All revenue from sales goes to the local affiliate in support of its building programs. The store is located at 1411 South Milton and is accepting donations now. Please call 928-779-1314 for details. Habitat for Humanity of Flagstaff is partnering with the community of Winslow on A Brush With Kindness. We are very appreciative of the continued support HFHF receives from the community. We may not be able to solve the affordable housing crisis in our city, but we can make a difference with every family we help, one home at a time.
