HFH South Peace Society is a locally run affiliate of
Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for
Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The
houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses. Back To Top |

 Currently, Habitat is completing it's fifth build.
Here in Grande Prairie our organization is 100% volunteer. We are always looking for dedicated people who share our vision of providing homes to those in need in Grande Prairie. This could mean serving as a board member or on a committee. Different committees work on: fundraising; acquiring materials; interviewing and selecting families and then guiding them through the initial stages of home ownership; phoning volunteers; and helping to build relationships with faith communities. Our office can be found in the Community Village at 10113-103 Avenue.
