HFH of Warrick County is a locally run affiliate of
Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for
Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The
houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses. Back To Top |

 We are in the process of completing our Silver Anniversary House in Newburgh. This house is dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Habitat International. It is also our first attempt at constructing a house which is ecomomically sound and ecologically safe. We have used many new materials, ie. autoclaved areated concrete block, concrete roofing tiles and finger-jointed studs. We hope to learn a great deal of information that will be able to be implimented in our regular builds. The dedication is set for November 10th, if you live in the area please come and join us for this wonderful celebration.

Volunteers are always needed for building projects, office help or stocking the shelves in the Habitat Home Store. For more information, please call our office at (812) 897-3404. Office hours are Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. If you or someone you know is in need of decent, affordable housing, please call our office for more information about the process of applying for Habitat home ownership. |
