About
Madison Co HFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

News
We have just completed a new house in Anderson, Indiana this past winter of 2007/2008 on the corner of 4th and John (525 West 4th). Thanks so much to our volunteers! Spring is here, and we are moving very fast on our new house on the corner of 5th and John (518 West 5th) in Anderson, Indiana. This house is also a joint build with the local vocational school (only during the school year). Framing, roofing and the outside siding work is now complete. Our attention now turns to working inside the house.

Habitat volunteers are needed to help finish this house. All skill levels are needed. Remember, with Habitat, it is not a problem if you do not have a specific skill level as we will match you with someone who does. What a great way to learn and give to a great cause! We will be working on this house every Wednesday and Saturday starting at 8:00 am. Our goal for 2008 is to complete this house and one additional house in Anderson. We need your help to accomplish this. Please call 765-649-4260 for additional information. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Late May 2008 HABITAT WAREHOUSE FIRE: Many of you have inquired about the warehouse fire where our Habitat storage facility was also located. The building and all the contents were a total loss. Habitat lost everything except the tools that were at the job site. Presently we are looking for a new site in the Anderson area to start to rebuild all our inventory and tools that were lost in the fire.
