THRIVENT GOES WORLD WIDE

The trips we have scheduled are: Szarvas, Hungary July 29-August 8 Panajachel, Guatemala September 13-22 Szarvas, Hungary-Ryoko French is leading the trip to Hungary. She has been a volunteer with Thrivent Builds in Spokane for many years and has participated in several international builds. We are still recruiting team members for this trip. The estimated trip cost is $1450- $1,600, plus round-trip airfare. This price includes lodging, food, ground transportation, cultural tours, R&R, travel medical insurance, orientation materials and a donation to Habitat Szarvas. Participants will need to arrange and pay for transportation from their point of departure to Budapest, Hungary. This should be done in consultation with the Ryoko French. Team members wishing to extend their stay in Budapest either before or after the build are welcome to do so, at their own expense.. Panajachel, Guatemala-One of our Financial Representatives, Bob Fisher is leading the trip to Guatemala. This will be the 2nd year Bob has participated in an international build. Last year, he was selected as an Ambassador from our region for the Guatemalan build. The authenticity of this experience inspired him to lead a trip this year. Thrivent Builds Worldwide trips give participants a unique opportunity to become active partners with people of other cultures. Thrivent members and the Habitat for Humanity host community work together, raising awareness of building decent, affordable homes worldwide, including the hurricane-ravaged Mississippi Gulf Coast, and communities in Central America, Africa and India. While each Thrivent Builds Worldwide trip is different, all include work, rest and free time. Teams will spend a few days touring local historic sites and attractions or participating in outdoor recreational activities. At least 50 percent of trip participants must be members of Thrivent Financial. To encourage participation, Thrivent Financial makes a $10,000 contribution to the Habitat host affiliate on behalf of all participants who are members.
